Working as a member of the Community Planning Department’s management team to achieve the City’s land use and growth objectives, the position oversees the team responsible for reviewing and updating the Official Plan, monitoring and responding to policy planning initiatives from senior levels of government, undertaking planning studies, developing area specific plans and impementation frameworks for strategic intensification areas, and maintaining a base of accurate planning data and information.
Qualified applicants have successfully completed a university degree in Planning or a related field and hold membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners. The role requires significant leadership experience and at least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional planning work experience at the municipal level. Your leadership skills are complemented by proven project management, change management and relationship building skills. Effective communication, facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills are essential as is a commitment to ensuring an exceptional customer experience for users of City services.
