Location:
The successful candidate for this position will be required to work in person at various sites across the City and will report to 3330 Harvester Road. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Supervisor of Horticulture or Supervisor of Parks, Gardener/Landscapers are responsible for preparing and maintaining horticultural displays on roadways, in parks as well as general parks maintenance throughout the City of Burlington.

Requirements:
The successful candidate should possess good judgment, problem solving and customer service skills. They will have experience related to the above-noted duties normally acquired through the completion of a 2-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in Horticulture, or a closely related field of study along with 1 – 2 years of relevant gardening/ landscaping experience. Candidates with the equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Applicants must possess a Class-G drivers’ License and/or be willing to obtain a Class D-Z license and must have a driving record that demonstrates responsible and safe driving behaviour (an acceptable driver’s abstract - no more than three (3) driving related convictions and an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
Candidates will be required to demonstrate their qualifications by passing a written, oral and/or practical examination, as part of the recruitment process. Shift work will be required depending on time of year.
This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities.
