As a member of the Enterprise Asset Management Solution (EAMS) Team, the Business Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that asset maintenance and/or asset planning activities are incorporated into the implementation and configuration of Burlington’s new EAMS Project, leveraging the power of the new solution and transforming business processes. Focused on the management of vertical, linear and rolling asset groups of multiple service areas at the City, this position brings specialized asset management business knowledge and is responsible for: business process review and mapping; system configurations; data information management; supporting the transition from project implementation to operations; and user training and change management support.
Business Process Review and Mapping:
Consult with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand and incorporate their needs into desired state business processes and configuration plans. Explore opportunities with client departments to re-engineer business processes to leverage the system and support continuous improvement and make recommendations for process improvement.
Create, maintain, validate and document all configurations within the software solution in consultation with the EAMS Business Analyst, project stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendor.

Work with client departments to create an operational roadmap for future use of the EAMS system, and support these departments as EAMS becomes operational during the project implementation.
Responsible for developing service area reports, granting access and creating speciality queries.
Administer the systems (e.g. data set up, validation rules) to deal with day to day changes (e.g. new accounts, changed business processes). Serve as first point of contact for EAMS Users.
Successful completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, Public Works Operations or Finance/Accounting, or equivalent; 3 to 5 years of experience working as an advanced user with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) solutions and working in a GIS environment with knowledge of software functionality and asset planning and/or asset maintenance business processes. Advanced understanding of municipal infrastructure and asset management practices, skills and competencies (e.g. asset maintenance activities such as inventory/stockroom, work orders, work flow tracking, reporting, asset decision support; and/or, lifecycle planning and capital budgeting).
